You Are Magical Card

"So come on
See the light on your face
Let it shine, just let it shine
Let it shine"

I started my super girly card by stamping the lovely fairy from the Absotoothly Awesome stamp set on a piece of Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock and, while it was drying, I stamped the image on a piece of masking paper, fussy cut it and then placed it over the cardstock to mask out the fairy.

I prepared Distress Oxide inks in the following colors: Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot.
I started with Squeezed Lemonade around the fairy to create the glow, then I gently blended it with Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry. At this point I used Seedless Preserves to cover the rest of the sheet and finally used Black Soot over most of the Seedless Preserves to create a very dark purple background.

I sprinkled water over the panel and the magic happened! At first I was really disappointed because the drops were created only on the light part of the card-due to the high amount of ink on the dark parts-but then I realized that this was exactly what I needed: it created a sort of bokeh effect around the fairy and this makes the glowing effect even better!

I removed the masking tape very carefully and I used Copic Markers to color the little girl. I must admit, I'm not used to color hair and I was completely scared while doing it, luckily it didn't end up that bad :D

FAIRY COPIC LIST
Hair: Y11, Y21, YR24
Dress: RV21, RV23, RV25, RV69
Wings: R000, RV21, Y11
Skin: E00, E02, R20

I made highlights with a white gel pen and I used the biggest die from the Imperial Stitched Rectangles dies to cut out a perfect panel. I also used the Magical word die on metallic gold and light yellow cardstocks and glued them together to create a yellow shadow for the gold word.

I heat embossed the "You Are" from the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns stamp set using white embossing powder and I placed the Magical word below it. I also added some white pearls around the fairy

I finally trimmed a piece of metallic gold cardstock and glued the card front over it, then I used foam tape to adhere the panels on a white card base.

I hope you enjoyed my project and see you soon!
Happy crafting.
