Welcome to the Heffy Doodle New Release inspiration Blog Hop! We are so excited to share amazing cards from 8 Design team Members using the new release! For today's special Blog Hop, you can win a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle Store! You'll find all the details at the end of this post.
Here's the card I made using all new goodies: the Go Wild (A2) Frame dies, the 'It's your Day' Jumbo Sentiment dies, small flowers from the Leafy Laurel Circle dies and the presents from the Farmyard Fun stamps and dies set. The star of the card is the super cute lion from the Mane Squeeze stamps/dies set that was an exclusive gift with every pre-order... however, you're still on time for getting your hands on it, in case you missed it.
I started by ink blending a piece of Heffy Doodle white cardstock with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and I used the main Go Wild (A2) Frame die over it, then I used Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn on the outer edges for more contrast. I also ink blended another A2 panel of white cardstock using Distress Oxide Carved Pumpkin and added Rusty Hinge on the outer part of the rectangle. Once I was happy with both panels, I sprinkled them with Distress Stain in Picket Fence (white) and set them aside to dry.
I stamped the Mane Squeeze lion and the Farmyard Fun presents using Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Heffy Doodle alcohol marker friendly cardstock and I colored them with the following Copic markers.
LION: Y000, Y21, YR24, E11, E13, E15, YR00, R20
PRESENTS and HAT: YR00, YR04, YR07 - Y11, Y15, Y17 - YG00, YG03, YG06
I added highlights using a white gel pen and used the coordinating dies to cut them out; I later stamped, colored and fussy cut the party hat from the Koality Hugs stamp set.
For the sentiment, I ink blended a small piece of cardstock using Distress Oxide Wild Honey and I used the 'It's your Day' Jumbo Sentiment dies over it. I also made several other die cuts that I glued together to create a thicker sentiment, the I glued the yellow one on top (slightly moved for a shadow effect).
I was now ready to assemble the card. I used the Heffy Doodle 3mm Deep Foam Tape to keep the wild frame and the orange base together, then I added the stamped images and lastly the sentiment. I needed more pops of color, though: I die cut some flowers from the Leafy Laurel Circle dies from various cardstocks and added them here and there over the frame. Card completed!
Also, if you didn't get the Mane Squeeze set yet, you can still receive the stamps with a £30 order and the dies too if you spend over £45 (before shipping). Don't miss this chance, it's really super duper cute!!
