Let's Fiesta! Card - Heffy Doodle New Release
Let's Fiesta! The new Heffy Doodle release is almost here!!
Hi everyone! It's fiesta time as the the new goodies from Heffy Doodle have almost been entirely revealed and will be available for pre-orders tomorrow! Today I'm sharing a card I made using only products from the new release: Llamazing Llamas stamp set, Fiesta Shadow Heffy Cuts die and the fabolous Zig-a-Zig Ah Chevron dies.
I started by ink blending a 5 x 6.5'' piece of cardstock using Distress Oxide Wild Honey and Abandoned Coral, I splattered it with water and let it dry, then I cut the panel in two as it was too big to die cut all at once due to the dies' length.
I used some washi tape to keep the Zig-a-Zig Ah Chevron dies as close as possible and used them on the ink blended panels: I was able to get about 6/7 regular pieces from each of them and I also got several tiny chevron strips that were "generated" by the negative space between the dies. How cool!! I also made extra strips from white cardstock and gently ink blended a small strip of paper with the Wild Honey Oxide.
I die cut the Fiesta Shadow Heffy Cuts die from black and white cardstock and heat embossed the LET'S word over black cardstock.
At this point I stamped the llama, the scarf and the sombrero from the Llamazing Llamas stamp set and colored them with Copic markers, then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I later fussy cut the sombrero as I thought it would look better without the white lines around it.
Finally I glued the chevron strips over a 4.5 x 6 piece of cardstock and cut off the excess; I had some strips left so I decided to double some for getting a 3D effect! You can't spot it in the pictures but it's so cool to see it in person! I added the images and sentiment using foam tape, then I attached the panel to a white card base.
I'm using this card for entering the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
Happy crafting.
