Magical Rain Shaker Card

    Ready. Shake. Go!!

It's been a while since I made my last Magical Shaker card: the Mama Elephant "Shake it Up!" Discord Challenge gave me the perfect excuse to make a new one! This time I went for the magical rain version, which I never did before and is so much fun to make and mostly to play with: I could barely took the pictures as my daughter stole it right away LOL

I started with the background by stamping the Mama Elephant Scene Builder city with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored it in a rainbow scheme with Copic markers, including the sky and the hill. I was planning to put vellum over it for a foggy effect so I didn't bother about getting a perfect blending on the sky. I also stamped and colored a couple of bunnies from Mama Elephant Little Bunny Agenda and the leaf/branch from The Bunny's Hop to use it as an umbrella and cut them out using coordinating dies.

I then started to work on the frame structure by cutting two Mama Elephant Display a Card dies and I glued them together on one side only, then I trimmed down the frame part that would end up in the back as I didn't need it. I ink blended the front part using Distress Oxide Inks that would match the background, which happened to be Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. I used the tree tops as clouds and gave them some dimension using Faded Jeans Oxide. I also cut out a hill from ME Slim Card Basic, ink blending it with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn and stamped the sentiment from ME Picnic with Friends in the middle using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

At this point I made the shaker part: I made a tutorial last year about it, this time I simply changed the shakin' from diagonal to vertical. If you're interested on it, you can find it here: https://www.mrsclocards.com/2020/04/shooting-stars-shaker-card-with-tutorial.html

Once it was completed, I added the two clouds in between the front frame and the sequins and I glued the frame to a blank card base. I attached the front hill and then trimmed the background panel to the right size, added vellum over it and glued it over the card base. The last thing I did was adding the two cute bunnies. Ready for shaking now!

I'm using this card for entering Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (favorite technique: Copic and Distress Oxide).
