Little Sloth Agenda Valentine's Card
Twinkle twinkle little star..
I had the idea of placing these sleeping sloth on the Moon the moment I saw them, but like most of my card ideas it remained unused... until now, when I realized it would make the perfect Valentine's card for my husband and our daughter. I was willing to try something new so I did some no line watercoloring: I was inspired by the one and only Kristina Werner 'cause I love her no line coloring cards and videos!
On a piece of watercolor paper I took the bunny on the moon from Mama Elephant Wish Upon a Star, I masked the bunny and stamped the moon only using Distress Oxide Antique Linen, then I filled the void with the two sloths from Mama Elephant Little Sloth Agenda.
I started by coloring the sky using wet on wet technique (you can find out many useful tutorials on YouTube) with Gansai Tambi watercolors. I left the moon edges for last 'cause my masking fluid had dried up and I had nothing to cover it with, however I was able to do it quite well apart from a little mistake on the bottom right corner ^__^''
I used the heat gun to speed up the drying process then I colored the Moon and the sloth using again Gansai Tambi watercolors and also some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the lightest colors.
Once it was dried, I heat embossed a sentiment from Mama Elephant Shooting Star using white embossing powder; I masked both moon and sentiment and added white and gold splatters, then I trimmed the panel to a smaller size.
I made some shadows with a brown pencil and some details with a Micron black marker, then I used foam tape to add the card front to a white card base.
