You Hog My Heart Card

A hug a day keeps sadness away!

Today I'm on the Heffy Doodle blog sharing a Valentine's card that I made using the Quill You Be Mine stamp and dies and the Love is Everywhere stencil. This card is quick and easy, yet I think it looks great due to the super adorable hogs and the Distress Oxide color combo.

First of all, I stamped the critters from the Quill You Be Mine stamp set on a piece of Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock and I colored them using E30, E31, E33, E35, E37 and R20 Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out, then I added details with a white gel pen and a dark brown colored pencil.

I trimmed in half a sheet of Heffy Doodle white cardstock and I ink blended Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry over the Love is Everywhere stencil. I used the Wendy Vecchi Make Art STAY-tion for this process, it never fails me! I added splatters of Gansai Tambi gold watercolor and I cut the piece using a square die.

I later used a bigger square die on a piece of kraft cardstock and I added splatters of Distress Spray Stain in Picket Fence for making the background more interesting

On a strip of Heffy Doodle black cardstock, I stamped a sentiment from the Quill You Be Mine stamp set using Versamark ink, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and I used a More Strips of Ease similar die to cut it.

I used the Heffy Doodle 3mm Foam Tape to attach the ink blended piece over the background, for giving more dimension as the card is pretty simple, and I used the same tape to adhere the hogs and the sentiment.

Happy crafting!
Claudia
