Crabulous Happy Birthday Card

...See the line where the sky meets the sea?
It calls me
And no one knows
How far it goes..

It's been a while since I created my last scene on a card and I was eager to get into Summer mood with a beach full of rainbow crabs *_*

First I stamped the crab from the A Little Shellfish stamp set multiple times using Memento Rich Cocoa ink on a sheet of Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock. I also stamped other images from the same stamp set, the letter from Yappy Happy Mail and the gift and party hat from Koality Hugs and I colored everything with a wide range of Copic Markers. I added highlights with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

COPIC COLOR LIST
PINK: RV21, RV23, RV25
RED: R20, R22, R24, R27, R29
ORANGE: YR00, YR04, YR07
YELLOW: Y11, Y15, Y17
GREEN: YG00, YG03, YG06, YG09 - G20, G21, G24, G27
TEAL: BG11, BG 15, BG18
BLUE: B00, B02, B05 - B91, B93, B95, B97
VIOLET/LILAC: BV00, BV02, BV04 - V12, V15, V17
BROWN: E30, E31, E33, E35

For the background I die cut the biggest Stitched Slimline Trio rectangle and ink blended the top with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass to color the sky. I die cut several other rectangles and used the waves and the hill dies from the Slimline Scenery set to create the sea (using Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch) and the sand (Distress Oxide Antique Linen and Walnut Stain). Once I was happy with the result, I glued them over the first rectangle and my base was done.

For the sentiment, I die cut twice the Happy B-Day words from the Stitched Birthday Trio A2 Frame dies and used scissors to tear each letter apart, after that I ink blended one series using Distress Oxide in rainbow order: from the left I used Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet. I let them dry for a bit then I added the stripes using a white and a gold gel pen; when they dried completely I glued a white letter below each colored one to create an offset shadow.
I also created the little striped sentiment by heat embossing the sentiment from the A Little Shellfish stamp set on black cardstock.

Now everything was done, all I had to do was adding all the elements to the background, using glue or foam squares to keep them in place.

I had so much fun making this card and I really hope you liked it! I'm also using it for entering Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Little Critters".
See you soon and happy crafting.
