One of a Kind Unicorns Card
We all need unicorns and rainbows during these hard times.
Hello there! Today I'm sharing with this colorful card I made using the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns stamps and dies. My daughter has been home with the flu and I wanted to make something for cheering her up.. when I'm feeling down, nothing works better for me than rainbows: is that the same for you?
I started this project with the background: I took a sheet of Heffy Doodle white heavy cardstock and trimmed it down at about 7" x 5", then I ink blended it using Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet. After that, I trimmed it down a bit more-the final measures are approx. 6" 3/8 x 4,5"- and added splatters of gold watercolor.
On the other part of the white cardstock sheet I used the cloud die from the Slimline Scenery dies twice to create two separate "raws" of clouds. I used the same gold watercolor for adding splatters here too.
I also created two other cloud pieces out of vellum and added chunky glitter using glue on the edges.
I stamped the cute critters from the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns stamp set (twice for the sitting unicorn), hand draw a little heart on some of their booties and colored everything with Copic markers. I used almost every shade in my stash!
Once I was finished, I added highlights with a white gel pen and details with a silver gel pen, then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
For the sentiment, I used one from the same stamp set: I heat embossed it in white over black cardstock and I used a banner die like the Strips of Ease to cut it out perfectly.
I placed everything over the background to decide where the unicorns should go: once I was happy with the result, I trimmed the cloud panels to the right sizes and used glue and foam tape to adhere them together and give more dimension to the card. I completed it by adding the unicorns and the sentiment using little foam squares.
I hope you enjoyed my card and see you soon!
Happy crafting.
