Copic colored Tulips on kraft cardstock card

Mom's birthday and no card idea? Say it with flowers...

I've seen a lot of cards made using Copics on kraft cardstock and I really wanted to give it a try. I've had this beautiful Mama Elephant Timeless Tulips stamps set for almost two years and it was beggin' me to be used!

I first stamped the image on kraft cardstock using Memento Desert Sand ink and I started to color the flowers as detailed as I could, leaving blank just a couple of petals near the steams 'cause I was worried about coloring out of the lines. I later realized that I probably made some mistakes on the leaves but nevermind: there's so much gold there that it's impossible to say if it's a flower or a leaf I was dealing with LOL When I was done with the coloring, I overstamped the image using Versamark ink-I used a Misti, off course-and then heat embossed it with Wow Gold Embossing powder. I put too much pressure here and there and in some areas the lines turned out more thick, but I like the final result anyway.

I added splatters of Red, White Gold and Gold Gansai Tambi watercolors and stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink; the outer panel was made using Bazzil Red cardstock. While I was taking the pictures I realized that some red sequins would add a perfect red touch so I added some from the Neat and Tangled - Full of Love sequins mix.

I'm using this card for entering Simon Says Wednesday Challenge and Simon Says Instagram Challenge.
