Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop

Yay, it's release day!

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle New Release Inspiration Blog Hop!

We are so excited to share amazing cards from our Design Team members using the new release!  For today's special Blog Hop, you can win a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store! Be sure to read 'til the end to find out how to partecipate.

This is the card I made for the occasion: I did some masking and created a one layer card using images from the new Wrapped With Love stamp set.

First of all, I created a draft of the final card on a piece of white cardstock. I didn't use masking in this phase: I didn't care for the images overlapping because I just needed a base for aligning all the stamps correctly later. To save time, however, I also stamped the images separately on a piece of masking paper that I fussy cut to create all the masks I needed.

I took a sheet of Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock and started stamping using a single image at time and applying the masks when needed. A stamping tool is required for this type of technique or you can go bananas! Little tip: I always make two copies to be sure I won't have to start again from the beginning in case something goes wrong.

When I was done, I added small details with a pencil until I was happy with the result and I set the sheets aside to dry a bit.

I took one of the pieces and I enjoyed the fun part: coloring with Copic markers! I decided to also color the background with light violet and brown markers to make the scene more complete.

COPIC COLOR LIST
PINK: RV21, RV23, RV25
RED: R20, R22, R24, R27, R29
ORANGE: YR00, YR04, YR07
YELLOW: Y11, Y15, Y17
GREEN: YG00, YG03, YG06, YG09
TEAL: BG11, BG 15, BG18
BLUE: B00, B02, B05 - B91, B93, B95, B97
VIOLET: V12, V15, V17
GREY: W1, W3, W5
BROWN: E50, E51, E53

When all the coloring was done, I added details with a white and a silver gel pen and I used a black fine tip marker to cover the details I previously added with the pencil (I forgot to cover a little one, can you spot it? LOL). I trimmed the panel down and I added a bit of extra color to the background using Distress Oxide Wilted Violet and Rusty Hinge.

I stamped the sentiment directly over the card and.. it smeared! Panic!! I tried to save the day and I made a black banner with the sentiment heat embossed in white. Guess what? It turned out even prettier. Yay!

I added the sentiment to the card, then I glued it over a slightly bigger white panel to create a tiny border. I made a card base and I covered the front using the peach striped paper from the Spring Breeze Patterned Paper Pad and I used foam tape to adhere the colored panel over it.
