Cool Penguins NLC cards
Hi everyone! It's cold here and it's the perfect weather for starting to craf for the holidays. Today I have two no line coloring cards featuring Cool Penguins by Mama Elephant.
This cute critters are illustrated by super talented Aida Zamora and I'm sure I mentioned before how much I love her style *_* They were part of Mama Elephant's September 2018 release and I had them in my stash for almost a year, but I wasn't able to make Christmas cards last year so I was really eager to use them.
I wanted to try no line coloring effect and I stamped all the penguins with Scrapbook.com Premium Hybrid Ink in Fog and I also included the little penguin from the ME Animal Parade stamp set that was also illustrated by Aida and perfectly fits with the others (I just added some fuzzy hair to make it look like a baby). On the blue/white card, the cup and the biscuits are from Merry Mantle and the winter hat for the central penguin comes from Birdie Wreath stamp.
I choose a Aqua/Red theme so I colored the images using Copic Marker on W, BG and R tones (see below for number details). I wanted to use all the penguins and some images looked less "no line" than others, that's when I decided to divide them and make two separate cards. I also tried two different type of background: for the first one, I blended Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Tumbled Glass and left a white part to make it look like a snow blizzard (I love how it turned out!!), for the second I used only Peackok Feathers and I paired it with two dies from Kingdom Trio that I colored with a little bit of Tumbled Glass.

Both background pieces were splattered with water and acrylic paint for a snowy effect and I then heat embossed the sentiment from the Cool Penguins set with Lawn Fawn white embossing powder.
The last thing I did was cutting two large frames from the Madison Avenue Framed Tags set and ink blended one with Candied Apple and one with Tumbled Glass (very gently, just to get a light ice color). I finally adhered everything together with foam tape and here we are!
Which one is your favorite? Please let me know on the comments!
