Pix's Favorites Birthday Card

Hola! February is full of birthdays for me: my mom, my sister and, last but not least, my best friend all celebrate it this month. This year I wanted to be sure they would all get a card, so let's start with this one I made for my sister.


I bought the lovely Mama Elephant Pix's Favorites stamps/dies set before Christmas and I couldn't wait to use it, along with the Altenew Watercolor Stripes stencil. What better occasion than this?

 I started stamping the lovely Pixs and then put my attention on choosing the Distress Oxide colors for the background: I went for Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin and Squeezed Lemonade. I never used a stencil before, but it turned out pretty easy and I can't wait to try with other colors! Anyway, once I was done with the background, I die cut it with the stitched rectangle from Mama Elephant Basic Set and went through my Copic Markers to find the best color combinations for matching the stripes. Once I did it, I colored some of the bunnies and decided that this one, my personal favorite, was also the best candidate for the card LOL 



For adding spots of color, I stamped the little gift boxes from Mama Elephant Birthday Animals, colored them and cut them with the coordinating die: however, I ended up cutting off the border completely as I thought it would look better. The sentiment is, like most times, taken from Mama Elephant Occasional Labels and the jewel/sequins are from Lucy's Shop Happiness mix, along with some spots of Nuvo Jewel Drops in Strawberry Coulis, Orange Marmalade and Limoncello.



The last thing I did was adding a larger background panel, die cut from kraft cardstock with the scalloped rectangle from Mama Elephant Basic Set. I glued everything on its place and here it is!
I also made a vellum envelope using my Silhouette Cameo; The postage stamp is from an old set by Forever Friends, on which I added a little bunny from Mama Elephant Birthday Animals.
